Unique Pieces
Trembles is a series of original poems typed onto cotton paper and moulded within pigmented beeswax and dammar. As the wax is poured, it moves across the paper and settles into form, obscuring parts of the text while leaving others visible. What can be read is therefore partly determined by the movement of the material itself. Language is held inside each work as writing and physical trace: preserved through enclosure while simultaneously withdrawn from view.

The materials through which the poems are encountered remain subject to temporal change. Beeswax and dammar, even after taking a particular form, remain responsive to their surroundings and continue to alter over time. Pigments shift as the material ages: colours that initially appear vivid gradually subside. The writing remains, while its appearance does not.

Trembles locates trembling within this tension between persistence and transformation. What is preserved can never be encountered in precisely the same way. The voices held within the works do not vanish; time continually alters the distance from which they can be heard.
